Welcome to the Mitchell County Historic Preservation Association’s web site. Our goals include identifying and preserving Mitchell County’s historic structures, sites, and stories. We also provide information and resources to owners of historic properties in Mitchell County, and host events connecting the present to the past.
On Sunday, June 18 2023 we will be hosting the 14th annual Hamlin Garland Summer Poetry Reading in the front yard of the Garland home at 3907 Nobel Ave just 2 miles east and 2.5 miles north of Osage. The event begins at 3 p.m. and refreshments will be served after the reading. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy this fun annual event.
